How to get started with your new Pilates lifestyle:
We offer a special consultation visit.
This scheduled, 45-minute appointment allows you to meet with us, see the studio, discuss your goals and schedule, and to get a feel for the “chemistry” here at Pilates Space Florida.
We highly recommend this introductory session and welcome the opportunity to meet you, answer any questions you may have, and offer you information about the Pilates method and how it can benefit your health and wellbeing.
Once you make the decision to become a client, we recommend that you begin with one of our Intro specials.
This is important in setting the basic foundation for your Pilates experience.
You will learn each exercise with proper form and alignment, as well as any modifications that might be appropriate for your body.
We recommend a minimum of three private sessions before moving on to duet training or group classes.
It is also highly recommended that you establish a consistent, regular training program in order to establish your foundation and achieve a better mind-body connection.
When are you Ready for Duets or Group classes?
You can add or transition to Duets or classes when:
You have a basic understanding of the exercises and the order in which they are performed and know how to safely handle the Pilates apparatus.
You have an understanding of the 6 Principles of Pilates and a beginning awareness of how to apply them.
Introductory sessions are available to all clients new to Authentic Pilates for only $25.00.
FAQ
How many times a week should I practice Pilates?
In order to get maximum results out of your Pilates experience you should commit yourself to taking two to three sessions or classes per week.
Doing less is still going to be very beneficial, but remember that consistency is the key to reaching your goals.
How long will it take before I see results from taking sessions?
Joseph Pilates said that “in ten sessions you will feel the difference, in twenty sessions you will see the difference, in thirty sessions you’ll have a whole new body.”
Do I need to be in good shape or flexible to start doing Pilates?
Absolutely not. We tailor your workout specifically to your current fitness level.
Pilates is for everybody and every body!
Why should I take private sessions?
Private sessions are the most effective way to start your Pilates training.
Pilates sessions are tailored to your individual needs and will introduce you to the Pilates method while quickly producing results.
I am pregnant, can I do Pilates?
Every body and pregnancy is unique, so always consult with your physician to find out what is best for you.
Your body is going through major changes during pregnancy so we will sometimes recommend not to start your Pilates practice while you are pregnant.

How can Pilates help with Fibromyalgia?
Pilates can help individuals with Fibromyalgia because it helps build muscle strength and reduce overall muscle tension.
In addition, pilates exercises helps alleviate widespread fibromyalgia pain by focusing on strengthening and low impact movement, while avoiding any jarring movements that can cause injury.
Other symptoms can also be alleviated by practicing Pilates.
Pilates helps to increase overall energy levels, thereby helping to reduce fatigue.
Pilates also promotes mental health, and so helps reduce anxiety.
My gym/ country club offers Pilates….why should I pay to come to your Pilates studio?
Although the widespread availability of Pilates classes is a tribute to its effectiveness as a workout system, Pilates classes are not necessarily comparable between studios and gyms.
Because we specialize in teaching True Pilates, we have comprehensively certified Pilates instructors, who are committed to teaching the authentic Pilates method -- which means that in general the classes offered here will be superior to those offered at gyms or country clubs. The most noticeable difference between the two typically is seen in teaching style, skill and experience of the instructors. We also offer an extensive selection of Pilates apparatus, as well as expertise in use of this apparatus.
What should I wear to my sessions?
There is no special Pilates dress code, what you whould wear at the Gym you can wear at the Pilates studio:
In general: Make sure you feel comfortable and can move freely.
Here are some basic ideas that work fine:
Male clients: Long work out pants or loose shorts with bike shorts underneath.
Fitted top/ shirt.
Female clients: Long work out pants or loose shorts with bike shorts/ hot pants underneath.
Leggings or Jazz/ Yoga pants are also great.
Sports bra, fitted top/ shirt.
Socks are required for all sessions and group classes!
